Some features offer major advances in productivity, like workflow automations or privacy mode. Many others involve smaller features, but together they add up for major workflow efficiencies.
Here are 10 feature tips that can save you seconds, minutes, or even hours every time you open ReviewStudio.
1. File Filtering & Search
For Reviews that contain a large number of files, it can sometimes be tricky to find the specific files that require attention.
With this filter and search feature, you can filter files by approval criteria, comments, and/or tasks. You can also search “filename contains” and sort by approval status.
Some examples of how this can be helpful:
- Finding only files that have been approved.
- Filtering files with comments on them.
- Searching for a specific filename.
2. Search Comments
The ability to filter and sort in the comment toolbar has been available for a while. Now, you can also search within comments for specific text.
You might want can create keywords that can be “flags” (#hashtags or labels) to help you find comments that meet your criteria. So you could for example search for “design” “legal” or “edit” and only show comments that contain those keywords.
3. Copy Reviews and Anonymize Comments
Some agencies want to keep their client names private when working with external consultants. Oftentimes the reverse might be true – where you don’t want the client to know the name of the creatives.
A new option in “Copy Review” lets you automatically assume ownership of all comments when making a copy. All the feedback would appear under the name of the user making the copy.
4. Asana and Monday Integrations
An important focus this year is to provide turnkey integrations with a large number of popular project management tools. Many of our users are using Zapier, along with customized work using our API. We currently have integrations available for Asana and Monday (beta).
5. Comments via the API
Speaking of our API, it is now possible to work with comments as an endpoint. Check out the API documentation for more on what’s possible.
6. Star Ratings
An especially useful feature for making a selection set from a large number of images, the Star Ratings option provides you with a convenient way to set priorities or vote on preferences by adding a rating of 1-5 stars.
This one is especially useful for photographers looking to proof images collaboratively.
7. Export Comments from Multiple Files
The ability to create an offline archive of all the comments and approval decisions right from the Canvas has been around for a long time.
Did you know you can create an archive of select files from within a Review? If you want to download comments from specific files, you can do so as a batch action from the Grid View.
8. Add Comments and Assign Tasks to Multiple Files
In Grid View you have the option to add comments or tasks to multiple files at once.
As an Approver, you also have the option to Approve, Approve with Changes, or Reject multiple files at the same time, using the Grid View.
9. Custom Messages Template
If you find yourself repeatedly typing the same notification messages over and over (from the Share menu), you should be using custom message templates. These are great for requesting feedback, giving instructions, or sending approval reminders.
10. Organize Projects
We introduced greater flexibility with how you can organize your projects. We now offer the ability to change “Clients” to Brands, Channels, Classes, Departments, Months, Quarters, Teams, and more. You can also set it to None if you don’t need to organize your projects at this level.
Labels are another great way to organize your files and comments during the course of a creative project. Labels function as identifiers or categories that can help you organize the ongoing review workflows in your organization.
